During our last trip to England, we spent a day in Chester. Chester is an amazing city that dates back to the year 79 when a Roman fort was founded there. The city is almost completely walled, only a small section is not complete, and there are many beautiful buildings in the city centre which look medieval although they are actually Victorian restorations.
We took a tour of the city to get our bearings. It included a bus trip around the major sites and a short cruise on the River Dee. We were fortunate that it was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed our visit.
